In this workshop, participants will explore how simple, real-life scenes—captured through photos—can be transformed into short documentary-style videos. Guided by the facilitator, participants will learn to observe their surroundings, identify meaningful moments, and translate them into visual stories. They will be introduced to the process of capturing images, selecting and organizing them, and shaping them into a coherent narrative through sequencing, motion, and sound. From framing and composition to editing and storytelling, participants will gain hands-on experience in turning still images into moving narratives. The workshop encourages both individual and collaborative work, allowing participants to experiment with different approaches to documentary-style storytelling using accessible tools. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created a short video piece based on “found stories” drawn from their own observations and experiences. He has worked on various television productions and is a recipient of a Golden Dove Award, recognizing excellence in broadcast media. Bringing his industry experience back into the classroom, Renan is committed to guiding young learners in developing their visual storytelling skills—combining strong foundations in photography with practical approaches to creating meaningful and engaging narratives.
